AccessMapr

AccessMapr is a mobile + web civic tech app that helps residents document accessibility barriers (broken curb ramps, blocked sidewalks, missing tactile paving, unsafe crossings) with photo, location, and severity. It auto-routes reports to the correct city department using jurisdiction boundaries and public 311 endpoints where available, then tracks status over time in a public dashboard. The AI layer clusters duplicate reports, extracts key details from photos (e.g., “ramp lip”, “construction blockage”), and generates a concise, standards-referenced description to reduce back-and-forth with agencies. Residents can subscribe to a route (home-to-transit, school drop-off) and get alerts when hazards appear or are resolved. The app is realistic because it focuses on a narrow, high-signal problem and uses existing municipal workflows instead of trying to replace them.
