AccessRoute

AccessRoute is a mobile + web AI-assisted routing app that helps people with mobility constraints plan trips that are actually doable, not just “shortest.” Users set a mobility profile (wheelchair, walker, stroller, low-vision, limited stairs, limited steep grades, needs elevators, needs curb cuts). The app then generates routes across walking + transit that prioritize accessible station entrances, working elevators, curb ramps, safer crossings, and manageable slopes. It blends official transit/municipal data with user reports and lightweight computer-vision checks from optional street-level imagery to flag likely barriers. The hard truth: accessibility data is messy and often wrong, so the MVP focuses on a few cities where data partnerships exist and builds trust through transparency (confidence scores, last-verified timestamps, and “plan B” alternates). Monetization starts with B2B: sell dashboards and API access to universities, hospitals, and city agencies.
