AdQuiet
AdQuiet is a desktop browser extension (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) that focuses on “low-breakage” ad blocking for people who are tired of sites malfunctioning after installing blockers. Instead of relying only on huge community lists, it uses a lightweight AI-assisted rules generator that learns per-site layouts locally: it identifies ad containers, sticky overlays, autoplay video frames, and newsletter popups, then creates site-specific cosmetic and network rules with a one-click “Fix this page” button. It also includes a compatibility mode that automatically backs off on aggressive rules when key page functions (checkout, video player, login) fail. Users get a simple dashboard showing what was blocked, what was allowed, and why. It’s realistic: it won’t beat every anti-adblock wall, but it will reduce annoyance while keeping pages usable, which is what most users actually want day-to-day.
