AfterKey

AfterKey is a mobile + web app that helps people prepare a practical “digital estate” without pretending to replace lawyers. It guides users to inventory critical accounts (banking, email, subscriptions, cloud photos, crypto, utilities), attach plain-language instructions, and assign trusted recipients with time-locked access. Instead of storing raw passwords, it focuses on recovery paths: where the 2FA device is, which email is the recovery email, which phone carrier holds the number, and what documents are needed. It also supports “proof-of-life” check-ins; if the user misses multiple check-ins, recipients get a staged release of instructions and links. It includes an exportable packet for an executor and a checklist aligned with common estate workflows. It’s realistic: most people won’t finish a full will app, but they will complete a 20-minute digital access plan if it’s simple and non-legal.
