Afterword is a mobile + web app that helps people organize “life admin” so their family isn’t left guessing: accounts, subscriptions, insurance, property, contacts, medical preferences, and end-of-life wishes. It guides users through a realistic checklist (not a fluffy journal) and turns it into a shareable emergency packet with controlled access. The app nudges users quarterly to confirm what’s still true, flags stale items (like expired IDs or changed beneficiaries), and provides a simple “what to do if I’m incapacitated” playbook. It also supports a lightweight executor mode: a trusted person can request access, and the owner can approve instantly or via a timed release. This isn’t about storing secrets forever; it’s about reducing chaos, missed bills, and family conflict with practical documentation and permissions.
