AfterWords

AfterWords helps people record and securely share end-of-life messages, practical instructions, and personal stories without turning it into a legal-document maze. Users create short “capsules” (video/audio/text) for specific recipients, plus a checklist for essentials like account access, funeral preferences, and key contacts. A trusted “Keyholder” (family member, executor, hospice social worker) is assigned to trigger release when the time comes, with optional multi-party confirmation to reduce abuse. The app focuses on emotional closure and logistics, not replacing wills or attorneys. It includes guided prompts designed with grief counselors, gentle scheduling nudges, and a simple export package for families. Realistically, adoption will come from caregivers and hospice teams who need something easy, not another complicated estate platform.
