AirWatchdog
AirWatchdog is a mobile + web app that helps local health departments and schools act faster on air-quality-driven health risks (wildfire smoke, ozone spikes, industrial events). It aggregates hyperlocal sensor feeds (public + partner sensors), weather forecasts, and simple symptom reporting to produce practical, pre-approved guidance: when to cancel outdoor sports, open clean-air rooms, adjust school pickup procedures, or message high-risk residents. It focuses on operational decision support rather than generic “AQI is bad” notifications. The app includes templated, one-click multilingual communications for SMS/email/social posts and a lightweight incident log so agencies can document what they did and why. It’s realistic: it won’t “predict asthma attacks,” but it can reduce confusion, speed coordination, and standardize responses across districts and municipalities with limited staff.
