AisleSwap is a mobile + web app that helps shoppers reduce grocery bills by suggesting realistic substitute products across stores while honoring dietary constraints (allergens, low-sodium, halal/kosher, vegan) and personal “never again” lists. Users scan a barcode or paste an online cart, then the app proposes 3–5 swaps ranked by savings, taste-likeness, and ingredient similarity. It also flags hidden ingredient gotchas (e.g., whey in “non-dairy” items) and shows price-per-ounce comparisons so users don’t get tricked by smaller packages. The MVP focuses on a few high-impact categories (snacks, cereal, sauces, frozen meals) where brand premiums are common and substitutions are frequent. This is an AI + traditional app: AI helps match “closest equivalent” items and interpret ingredient lists, but pricing and product data are handled with standard integrations and a curated catalog.
