AllerMap

AllerMap is a mobile + web restaurant discovery app focused on people with food allergies and intolerances who are tired of vague “gluten-free options” claims. Users build an allergy profile (e.g., peanuts, shellfish, dairy, celiac, sesame) and see nearby restaurants ranked by real-world safety signals: verified ingredient lists, cross-contamination notes, staff training badges, and recent diner reports. The app generates a short “ask script” you can show servers, and it tracks which locations handled your request successfully. Restaurants can claim profiles to upload allergen matrices and kitchen practices, but the app stays honest by clearly labeling what’s verified vs. user-reported. This is not a general Yelp clone; it’s a narrow, high-stakes filter that reduces risk and decision fatigue for a specific group that currently relies on scattered Facebook groups and guesswork.
