Users enter a target material (e.g., 6061-T6, PA66 GF30) plus constraints like temperature range, corrosion environment, required standards, machining method, and cost ceiling. The app returns ranked substitutes with side-by-side property comparisons, standards crosswalks (ASTM/ISO/EN equivalents), and a “risk notes” section highlighting what typically goes wrong (heat treat differences, galvanic corrosion, creep, weldability). It also generates a short substitution memo suitable for internal approval, including assumptions and test recommendations. This is an AI-assisted app, but it’s grounded in curated datasets and rule-based checks so it doesn’t hallucinate critical engineering claims. Monetization is per-seat SaaS plus a higher tier for private material libraries.
