AltMethodKit

AltMethodKit is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps R&D, regulatory, and lab teams quickly identify validated non-animal testing methods that are actually acceptable to specific regulators and jurisdictions. Users select an endpoint (e.g., skin sensitization, eye irritation, genotox), product type (chemical, cosmetic, medical device), and target markets (EU, US, OECD). The app returns a short list of recognized alternatives (OECD TGs, ISO methods, ICCVAM/NICEATM resources), required controls, known limitations, and a plain-language “regulatory confidence” summary with citations. It also generates a shareable method brief for internal review, including estimated cost/time ranges and typical CRO capabilities. This is not a magic “replace all animal tests” tool; it’s a practical navigator that reduces weeks of searching and misinterpretation, and helps teams avoid choosing an alternative that gets rejected later.
