AltScribe
AltScribe is a web app + browser extension that helps teams produce accurate, human-reviewable alt text for images before publishing. It scans pages or CMS media libraries, flags missing/low-quality alt text, and proposes drafts based on image content plus surrounding page context (headings, captions, product data). The workflow is built for speed: bulk suggestions, inline editing, approval states, and audit trails for compliance reporting. It also enforces style rules (length limits, avoid “image of…”, handle decorative images) and supports localization for multilingual sites. Realistically, it won’t “solve accessibility” and it will still need human review—AI will hallucinate sometimes—but it can cut the time cost that makes teams ignore alt text. The product focuses narrowly on one high-impact, measurable area: image accessibility coverage and quality over time.
