AltSource is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps procurement and operations teams build practical supply chain resilience by continuously mapping critical parts to qualified alternative suppliers. Instead of trying to predict every disruption, it focuses on what companies can control: second-source readiness, lead-time buffers, and substitution options. Users upload a BOM or SKU list, define criticality thresholds, and the app monitors supplier risk signals (financial stress, shipping delays, geopolitical exposure, single-site concentration) to flag where they are dangerously single-sourced. It then recommends realistic alternates using a curated supplier directory, certification matching (ISO, ITAR, food-grade, etc.), and a lightweight qualification workflow (RFQ templates, document collection, audit checklist). It produces board-ready resilience reports: “top 20 single points of failure,” time-to-recover estimates, and cost-of-dual-sourcing scenarios. The goal is fewer surprises and faster recovery when something breaks.
