AmendAlert is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that monitors legislative bills and flags meaningful changes between versions—especially last-minute amendments that often slip past busy staff. Users subscribe to bills, committees, keywords, or jurisdictions and receive a clean “diff” view that highlights what changed, who introduced it, and when it moved. The app generates a short impact brief per change (what sections were added/removed, likely affected industries/constituencies, and procedural next steps) and keeps an audit trail for internal reporting. It’s built for real-world constraints: messy PDFs, inconsistent bill formatting, and frequent reprints. This is an AI + traditional app: AI helps extract text, align sections, and summarize changes, while deterministic rules handle tracking, notifications, and compliance logging. The goal is not to replace policy staff—just to stop surprises and reduce manual comparison work.
