ArchiveTrail
ArchiveTrail is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for historians and genealogists who do multi-archive research and keep losing track of what they searched, what they found, and what still needs verification. It acts like a research log + evidence manager: you create a project, add repositories/collections, record searches (query, date, call number, box/folder), attach photos/PDFs, and link each item to claims (e.g., “John Smith born 1821”). The AI layer helps by extracting key fields from document images, suggesting standardized citations, and flagging conflicts between claims and evidence. It also generates a clean “research trail” report you can share with collaborators or submit with a paper. This is not a magic ‘find me ancestors’ app; it’s a disciplined workflow tool that reduces rework and makes your research defensible.
