ArguMentor

ArguMentor is a web + mobile AI app that helps people practice critical thinking by forcing clarity. Paste a paragraph from a news article, email thread, or meeting notes and it extracts claims, assumptions, and implied conclusions, then asks targeted questions to expose gaps (missing evidence, undefined terms, false dilemmas, correlation vs causation). It generates a “Reasoning Map” with confidence flags and a checklist of what would change the conclusion. The app is not a fact-checker; it’s a thinking coach that teaches users how to evaluate arguments regardless of topic. Users can save templates for recurring decisions (hiring, vendor selection, product bets) and run quick “pre-mortems” to surface risks. Expect pushback: people don’t like being challenged, so the UX must feel like a private tool, not a public judgment.
