AshRoute

AshRoute is a mobile + web app that turns messy volcanic ash advisories into clear, actionable go/no-go guidance for pilots, drone operators, and airport ops teams. It ingests VAAC bulletins, SIGMETs, METAR/TAF, and satellite-derived ash detection, then overlays ash concentration bands and forecast movement on a simple map with route-aware alerts. Users can draw a planned flight/drone corridor and get time-window risk summaries, alternative routing suggestions, and printable briefings for compliance. It’s not a consumer earthquake-alert clone; it’s a niche operational tool where people actually pay because ash can ground flights, damage engines, and create expensive disruptions. The MVP focuses on a few high-impact regions (e.g., Alaska, Iceland, Indonesia) and prioritizes reliability, audit trails, and clear uncertainty communication over flashy features.
