AuroraNow
AuroraNow is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that helps people decide—fast—whether it’s actually worth driving out to see the northern lights. Instead of generic KP charts, it produces a simple “Go/Maybe/No” forecast for your exact location and time window, factoring in cloud cover, moon brightness, local light pollution, and geomagnetic activity. It also recommends nearby dark-sky pull-offs and safe viewing spots, with offline maps for rural areas. The app includes a community “confirmed sightings” feed with photo verification signals (EXIF time/location, basic authenticity checks) to reduce fake hype. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for data ingestion and mapping, AI for probabilistic scoring, personalized alerts, and filtering noisy community reports. Monetization: freemium with paid push alerts, offline packs, and pro tools for tour guides.
