BackfillKit

BackfillKit is a web app (with optional CLI) that orchestrates safe data backfills and reprocessing for modern ELT stacks. Teams often need to replay a day/week of data after a bug, schema change, vendor outage, or late-arriving events—yet doing it manually risks duplicates, broken downstream tables, and angry stakeholders. BackfillKit connects to your warehouse and orchestrator, lets you define a backfill window, computes impacted models/tables, and runs a controlled replay with idempotency checks, row-count and checksum validation, and automatic rollback/stop conditions. It also generates an audit trail: who ran what, why, and what changed. This is not a full ETL platform; it’s a focused operational tool for the painful “fix it and rerun” workflow that every data team eventually faces. Expect some setup and discipline—this won’t magically fix messy pipelines—but it can dramatically reduce incident time and risk.
