BadgeBeacon

BadgeBeacon is a mobile + web app for small and mid-sized facilities to reduce “unknown person on site” risk using employees’ phones as presence beacons. Staff check in/out automatically via geofenced Bluetooth (BLE) and optional QR checkpoints; visitors are issued time-boxed passes that must be validated at entry. The dashboard shows a live occupancy roster, last-seen locations by zone (approximate, not creepy room-level), and alerts when someone is in a restricted area or on-site outside allowed hours. It also creates an incident-ready audit trail: who was present, when, and which supervisor acknowledged alerts. This is not a replacement for access control; it’s a lightweight layer that helps operations teams detect tailgating, propped doors, and after-hours access patterns without installing cameras or replacing locks. Realistically, it works best where compliance and accountability matter more than perfect enforcement.
