BakeBackup

BakeBackup is a mobile + web app focused on one thing: substitutions for baking that preserve texture and rise. Instead of generic “swap X for Y” tips, it asks for your recipe context (cookies vs cake vs bread), constraints (no eggs, no dairy, low sugar), and what you have on hand. It then outputs a ranked set of substitutions with expected outcomes (e.g., “slightly denser,” “less browning”), adjusted quantities, and any process changes (rest time, temperature, mixing). It also includes a small, curated library of validated swap “formulas” (egg replacers, buttermilk, self-rising flour, cake flour, brown sugar, cornstarch slurry) with confidence scores and citations. This is an AI app plus a rules engine: AI handles context and explanation, while the rules database prevents hallucinated ratios. Monetization: freemium with a paid tier for advanced constraints, saved pantry profiles, and batch scaling.
