BallotLint
BallotLint is a web app (with optional desktop offline mode) that audits ballot layouts and voting system configurations before they go live. Election offices upload ballot PDFs, style templates, and contest data exports; the app runs a rules-based and AI-assisted review to flag common, expensive mistakes: misaligned ovals, inconsistent instructions, truncated candidate names, language-access issues, contest order problems, and accessibility red flags (contrast, font size, screen-reader tagging). It produces a plain-English report, a checklist for sign-off, and a versioned audit trail that’s useful for internal QA and public records requests. This is not a voting app and does not touch tabulation—its value is preventing reprints, legal challenges, and voter confusion. Realistically, selling is slow (government procurement), but the pain of ballot errors is real and recurring every election cycle.
