BandCheck helps shoppers avoid the most common “used phone” trap: buying a device that won’t properly work on their carrier (missing LTE/5G bands, carrier locks, or region variants). The app lets you scan a listing (screenshot, URL, or pasted text) and extracts the exact model number, storage/RAM, and variant hints. It then compares that against a verified carrier compatibility database (bands, VoLTE/VoWiFi support, eSIM, 5G SA/NSA, and known lock policies) for your country and carrier. You get a simple pass/fail with a confidence score, plus a checklist of questions to ask the seller and quick tests to run at pickup. It also generates a “deal sanity” view: typical resale price range, red-flag phrases, and whether the specs match the photos. This is a mobile app with a lightweight web companion for pasting links.
