BasisBeacon

BasisBeacon is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that tracks and explains power market basis risk between hubs/nodes and your delivery points. It ingests ISO/RTO LMPs, congestion components, outages, transmission constraints, weather, and fuel spreads, then highlights which constraints are driving basis blowouts and whether they’re likely to persist. Users set watchlists for specific hubs, nodes, and paths; the app pushes alerts when spreads breach thresholds or when new outages/derates materially change expected congestion. It includes a lightweight “what changed” feed that attributes spread moves to a small set of drivers, plus scenario snapshots (e.g., heatwave + key line outage) to stress test exposures. This is not a full ETRM replacement; it’s a focused basis-risk radar for traders, analysts, and risk teams who need faster, clearer situational awareness than spreadsheets and scattered ISO pages.
