Users scan a barcode/QR (or upload photos of the box and bottle), and the app returns a confidence score: likely authentic, uncertain, or high-risk. It cross-references known manufacturer batch-code formats, crowdsourced “verified purchase” submissions, and marketplace seller signals (return rates, account age, region mismatches). It also flags common red flags like mismatched fonts, missing seals, or outdated ingredient lists for that exact SKU. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI handles image comparison and anomaly detection, while rule-based validation covers batch-code logic. Monetization: freemium scans, plus a paid plan for frequent buyers and resellers, and affiliate links to trusted retailers.
