BatchProof

BatchProof is a mobile app + web dashboard that helps consumers and small businesses verify whether a specific product batch/lot is affected by safety issues. Instead of relying on vague recall notices, users scan a barcode, then optionally enter or OCR the lot/batch code and expiration date from the package. The app checks a normalized database of recalls, safety alerts, and manufacturer notices, then returns a clear “affected / not affected / unknown” result with evidence links and recommended next steps. For small retailers, the web dashboard supports quick bulk checks of incoming shipments and generates a simple compliance log. This is not magic: many products don’t expose lot codes clearly, and data quality varies. The MVP focuses on categories where lot codes are common (baby formula, OTC meds, cosmetics, pet food) and where users actually care.
