BatchTrace

BatchTrace is a mobile + web AI app that helps shoppers verify “natural/organic” beauty claims by scanning a product’s barcode and (when available) its batch/lot code. Instead of relying on vague marketing, it pulls structured data from brand disclosures, certification registries, recall databases, and user-submitted label photos to show: certification status (if any), ingredient list history, manufacturing country, allergen flags, and whether the brand has changed formulas recently. The app focuses on reality: many products won’t have perfect data, so it clearly shows confidence levels and what’s missing. Users can set personal “avoid lists” (e.g., specific essential oils, coconut derivatives, phenoxyethanol) and get a simple pass/warn/unknown result with explanations. Brands can optionally claim profiles and publish batch-linked COAs, but the app remains useful without brand participation.
