BeanProof helps shoppers and cafes verify roast-date freshness and storage quality of packaged coffee and tea using a simple scan-and-check workflow. Users scan a bag’s barcode/QR, then the app pulls known product data (roaster, roast date format, typical shelf-life) and prompts a quick photo of the bag’s one-way valve area and date stamp. It flags common red flags: missing roast date, “best by” only, overly old inventory for the roast level, or suspicious relabeling. For cafes, it adds a lightweight receiving log so staff can record deliveries, auto-calculate “use by” windows, and generate a simple freshness badge for menus or online listings. This is not magic: it won’t perfectly detect staleness, but it will reliably surface transparency and inventory issues that cost money and disappoint customers.
