BeatBoard
BeatBoard is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for writers who need blunt, structured feedback on story clarity and pacing without begging friends. You upload a chapter/scene, then the app recruits paid micro-readers (or your own beta list) to answer short, forced-choice questions: “What does the protagonist want?”, “Where did you get confused?”, “Which line made you stop?”, plus a 1–5 tension curve. Results aggregate into a “Beat Map” showing where readers lost the thread, skimmed, or felt hooked. It also flags mismatches between your intended beat (you tag it) and what readers perceived. This is not a writing generator; it’s a measurement tool that turns subjective reactions into comparable data across drafts. Writers can run A/B tests on openings, blurbs, or alternate scenes and see which version retains attention better.
