BeatLedger

BeatLedger is a web app (with optional desktop wrapper) for writers who struggle to keep story structure coherent across drafts. Instead of another outlining canvas, it treats structure like an auditable ledger: every scene must “pay for itself” by linking to a goal, conflict, change, and consequence. You build a beat list, then the app runs consistency checks (setup/payoff gaps, missing reversals, flat arcs, unresolved promises, pacing spikes). It also generates a one-page “structure report” you can share with editors or critique partners. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used for lightweight classification and suggestions (e.g., identifying stakes, turning points), but the writer stays in control and can override everything. The product is intentionally narrow: structure validation, not full writing or worldbuilding.
