BenchBeacon is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that helps consulting firms forecast staffing gaps and reduce unbillable bench time. It pulls lightweight signals from calendars, project plans, and timesheets to predict when each consultant will roll off, what skills will be available, and which upcoming opportunities are most likely to convert. Instead of pretending to be a full PSA replacement, it focuses on one job: early warning and fast matching. Partners and staffing leads get a weekly “risk board” showing who is trending toward bench, which projects are under-scoped, and where skill mismatches will cause delivery risk. Consultants can maintain a simple, verified skills profile and availability preferences without spending hours updating yet another system. The AI layer suggests matches and flags inconsistencies, but humans approve staffing decisions.
