BenchBio

BenchBio is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that converts day-to-day biology lab notes into structured, searchable experiment records. Most academic and small biotech labs still live in paper notebooks, Word docs, or scattered Google Drive folders, which makes reproducing results and onboarding new members painful. BenchBio lets users paste text, upload PDFs/images, or dictate notes; it extracts key entities (sample IDs, strains, plasmids, primers, conditions, lot numbers) and links them to a lightweight inventory and protocol library. It then generates a clean experiment timeline, flags missing metadata, and produces shareable “methods-ready” summaries for manuscripts or internal reports. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps parse and normalize messy inputs, but the core value is reliable organization, permissions, and audit trails. It’s not trying to replace ELNs for regulated pharma—just to be the first ELN that busy labs actually keep updated.
