BenchBrief

BenchBrief is a web app (with optional tablet-friendly view) that helps trial-court staff and judges assemble a consistent, one-page “hearing snapshot” for each matter: parties, posture, key filings, deadlines, prior orders, and a neutral issue list. It connects to the court’s existing case management exports (CSV/XML) and ingests PDFs from the e-filing repository to auto-extract captions, motion types, hearing dates, and referenced exhibits. The app then generates a standardized brief template and a checklist for what’s missing (e.g., proposed order not filed, notice defects, service gaps). It’s not a magic “decide the case” tool; it’s a workflow tool to reduce last-minute scrambling and prevent avoidable continuances. Deployment can be on-prem or in a government cloud tenant depending on court policy.
