BenchBuddy is a mobile + web app for vocational programs (trades, healthcare aides, manufacturing, hospitality) to track real competency evidence during hands-on training. Instructors or workplace mentors can quickly record a task attempt, attach short video/photos, select the rubric criteria, and sign off digitally. Learners build a portable skills portfolio that maps to specific competencies rather than vague “hours completed.” The app includes offline capture for job sites, automatic timestamping/location (optional), and structured feedback prompts so evaluations are consistent across mentors. On the web dashboard, training providers can see cohort progress, identify bottlenecks (e.g., everyone failing the same step), and export reports for compliance or employer partners. This is not a generic LMS; it’s a field-first competency log that reduces paperwork and makes skill verification harder to fake.
