BiasBack

BiasBack is a web + desktop (Slack/Teams) add-on that flags exclusionary language and biased decision patterns during everyday work—hiring feedback, performance reviews, promotion packets, and meeting notes. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: AI suggests rewrites, asks clarifying questions, and highlights risk areas (e.g., “culture fit,” “too aggressive,” “not leadership material”) with context-specific alternatives. The product is intentionally narrow: it doesn’t try to “solve DEI,” it reduces preventable HR and manager mistakes that create attrition and legal exposure. Admins get lightweight analytics (not surveillance): where bias-risk language clusters by process stage, not by individual “bad actors,” plus templates for structured feedback and calibrated rubrics. Employees can privately check wording before submitting. The goal is fewer biased artifacts in systems of record, with minimal workflow disruption.
