BiasBrief

BiasBrief is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps staff quickly assess potential conflicts, bias signals, and disclosure gaps for judicial nominees. It ingests public sources (opinions, briefs, speeches, financial disclosures, news, campaign donations where relevant, organizational memberships) and produces a structured “evidence map” with citations, timelines, and confidence flags. An AI layer summarizes patterns (e.g., repeat litigants, ideological affiliations, hot-button issue language) but never hides the underlying documents—every claim links back to a source. The product is built for messy, time-boxed workflows: collaborative checklists, standardized questionnaires, and exportable packets for hearings and internal review. Realistically, it won’t replace deep legal vetting; it reduces the hours wasted on searching, deduping, and assembling materials, and makes the process more auditable and consistent across teams.
