BiasMirror

BiasMirror is a mobile + web AI-assisted decision journal that helps people catch cognitive biases (confirmation bias, sunk cost, availability, etc.) while they’re actually making choices—not after the fact. You log a decision in 60 seconds: context, options, confidence, and what evidence you used. The app then asks a few targeted prompts designed from cognitive science (e.g., “What would change your mind?” “What’s the base rate?”), flags likely biases, and generates a short “counter-check” plan. Later, it pings you to record outcomes, so you can see which biases repeatedly cost you time, money, or stress. Over time, BiasMirror builds a personal bias profile and shows simple dashboards: overconfidence vs. accuracy, prediction calibration, and which environments trigger mistakes (work, relationships, spending). It’s not therapy; it’s practical metacognition training for everyday decisions.
