BidShield is a mobile + web app that helps car owners sanity-check repair quotes before approving work. You upload a photo/PDF of the estimate, and the app parses line items (parts, labor hours, shop fees) and compares them to typical ranges for your vehicle, region, and repair type. It flags common red flags (duplicate labor, inflated shop supplies, unnecessary “recommended” services, mismatched part numbers) and generates a short script you can use to ask the shop for clarification. If you want, you can request a second opinion from a vetted network of independent mechanics who review the quote asynchronously for a small fee. This isn’t magic: it won’t diagnose your car remotely, and it can’t guarantee a shop is dishonest. It simply gives you leverage, clarity, and a paper trail so you don’t approve $1,800 of work you didn’t need.
