BioBorder

BioBorder is a mobile + web AI-assisted reporting and triage tool for invasive species focused on “first detection” near ports, trailheads, boat ramps, and plant nurseries. Users snap a photo, the app suggests likely species with confidence and prompts for the minimum evidence needed (extra angles, leaf/seed detail, location context). Reports are auto-scored for urgency using proximity to high-risk entry points, seasonality, and local watchlists, then routed to the right agency/land manager with a clean, standardized packet. The realistic value is not perfect identification—it's faster, higher-quality reports and fewer dead-end submissions. A lightweight web dashboard lets coordinators manage queues, request follow-up photos, and export to existing systems (CSV/GeoJSON). It also supports offline capture for remote areas and delayed upload. Expect heavy dependence on partnerships; without them, it’s just another nature photo app.
