BioCorridor

BioCorridor is a web + mobile app that helps cities, NGOs, and developers identify and implement practical urban biodiversity corridors—continuous “stepping stones” of habitat connecting parks, waterways, street trees, green roofs, and vacant lots. Users map a project area, then the app scores connectivity using open land-cover data and local observations (e.g., iNaturalist exports) to highlight the most cost-effective interventions: where a single pocket garden, native hedge, or culvert retrofit would meaningfully improve movement for target species groups (pollinators, birds, small mammals). It generates a simple corridor plan with prioritized sites, estimated costs, permitting checklist, and a monitoring workflow for before/after observations. This is not a magical ecology oracle: results are decision-support, not guarantees. The value is making corridor planning fast, defensible, and repeatable for non-specialists who still need to justify spend and show measurable progress.
