BiofoulWatch is a web + mobile AI app that helps tidal and wave operators detect and forecast biofouling risk on devices (turbines, moorings, sensors) and schedule cleaning/ROV work at the least painful time. It combines site conditions (temperature, salinity, chlorophyll proxies, turbidity), operational signals (power curve drift, vibration, torque, pitch), and maintenance history to flag likely fouling and quantify expected energy-loss and failure risk. The MVP focuses on practical decision support: “clean now vs wait,” with a simple ROI calculator and a work-order export. This is not a magic black box—models will be conservative and explainable, and it will work best for operators who already log basic SCADA and maintenance data. The app targets reducing unplanned downtime and avoiding unnecessary vessel/ROV mobilizations, which are often the real cost driver offshore.
