BirdHazard

BirdHazard is a mobile + web app that helps conservation groups and cities reduce everyday human-made bird deaths (window strikes, light pollution, cats, toxic ponds, unsafe netting, and construction hazards). Users snap a photo, the app auto-tags the hazard type and location, and generates a standardized incident report. Reports roll into a public map and a private dashboard for partner orgs to triage, verify, and assign follow-ups (e.g., contact building managers, request lights-out, add window film, adjust landscaping). The platform includes templated outreach emails, evidence packs, and before/after tracking so fixes can be proven with data. This is not a “birding” app; it’s a lightweight operations tool for mitigation at scale. Monetization is realistic: sell dashboards and reporting to municipalities, campuses, property managers, and NGOs; keep public reporting free to drive coverage.
