BitCaliper

BitCaliper is a mobile + web app that helps builders and makers identify the correct drill bit, driver bit, tap/die, or fastener size from a quick photo and a few prompts. The core problem is wasted time: mismatched bits, stripped screws, wrong pilot holes, and repeated hardware-store runs. Users snap a photo of the screw head or hole, optionally place a common reference (coin/printed card), and the app suggests likely standards (Phillips/JIS/Torx/Robertson/hex; metric/SAE), recommended bit size, pilot-hole size, and torque guidance. It also keeps a simple “tool drawer” inventory so you can see if you already own the right bit and where it is stored. This is not magic: it will be wrong sometimes, so the UX emphasizes confidence levels and quick manual confirmation rather than pretending to be perfect.
