BiteLedger is a mobile + web app that replaces generic restaurant stars with a personal, structured “taste ledger.” Users rate dishes (not just venues) using a few consistent sliders—salt, spice, sweetness, richness, portion value—plus quick notes and photos. The app then builds a private preference profile and shows you what to order next time at the same place or at similar restaurants nearby. Reviews are intentionally low-drama: no public comment wars, no influencer vibes, and no endless feeds. You can optionally share a curated list with friends (e.g., “best lunch under $15 near the office”) without turning it into a social network. The AI component summarizes your notes into actionable recommendations (“you tend to like smoky, spicy, high-acid dishes; avoid creamy pastas here”). This is realistic because it focuses on repeat decisions (what to order) rather than trying to out-Yelp Yelp.
