BleedBrief
BleedBrief is a clinician-facing perioperative anticoagulation and antiplatelet planning tool that generates a clear, time-stamped “hold/bridge/restart” plan for elective and semi-urgent surgeries. Users enter procedure type, bleeding risk, indication (AFib, VTE, stent), renal function, and current meds (DOACs, warfarin, aspirin, P2Y12). The app outputs a concise plan with rationale, monitoring steps (INR targets, last dose timing), and a shareable handoff summary for pre-op clinic, anesthesia, and the surgical team. It also tracks pending prerequisites (cardiology clearance, INR recheck, LMWH teaching) and flags common safety pitfalls (dual antiplatelet too soon after stent, neuraxial timing constraints). This is not a replacement for institutional policy; it’s a workflow tool that makes guideline-based plans consistent and auditable, reducing last-minute cancellations and preventable bleeding/thrombosis events.
