BOMShield

BOMShield is a web app (with optional mobile alerts) that monitors semiconductor components in your BOM and flags supply-chain and lifecycle risks early. It ingests your BOM, normalizes MPNs, and continuously checks for red flags like lifecycle shifts, allocation pressure, sudden lead-time spikes, and second-source gaps. An AI layer summarizes what changed, why it matters, and suggests practical mitigations (approved alternates, parametric near-matches, or redesign notes), but it does not pretend to be perfect—users can approve/deny recommendations and keep an auditable trail. The product is aimed at teams that are tired of spreadsheet chaos and surprise shortages, but don’t want a heavyweight ERP module. Realistically, the hardest part is data quality and getting reliable signals; the app wins by being transparent about confidence and by integrating into existing workflows (email/Slack/Jira) instead of forcing a new process.
