BorderBrief
BorderBrief is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that tracks and explains changes to geographic boundaries and administrative regions over time. It monitors authoritative sources (government gazettes, official GIS portals, election commissions, statistical agencies) and flags updates such as municipality mergers, district splits, ward redistricting, postal boundary changes, and new census geographies. Users can subscribe to specific areas and receive a concise changelog: what changed, effective date, links to primary documents, and downloadable GIS files (GeoJSON/Shapefile) plus a “before/after” map diff. It’s built for teams who get burned by silent boundary updates that break analytics, compliance reporting, routing, and field operations. Realistically, the hard part is data ingestion and normalization across jurisdictions; the MVP should focus on a few high-demand countries/states and expand as data partnerships and scrapers mature.
