Box2Batch
Box2Batch is a web + mobile app for archives and special collections that turns messy accession/backlog boxes into clear, trackable digitization batches. Staff or student workers use a phone to capture quick item-level “good enough” metadata (title guess, date range, format, condition, restrictions) and a barcode/QR for each folder or item. The system auto-builds batches for scanning vendors or in-house labs, generates standardized manifests (CSV + PDF), and enforces minimal required fields so you don’t create unusable digital objects later. It includes a lightweight triage workflow (needs conservation, privacy review, rights unknown) and produces a prioritized queue based on risk and demand. This is not a full DAMS or repository; it’s the missing pre-digitization layer that most institutions hack together in spreadsheets and email threads.
