BoxCheckr is a mobile + web app that helps shoppers avoid bad refurbished/open-box purchases by scoring listings for risk and true value. It aggregates open-box/refurb deals from major retailers and marketplaces, then normalizes what sellers hide: warranty length, return window, condition grade, missing accessories, and seller reputation. Users can paste a link or scan a product page; BoxCheckr extracts the fine print, compares against historical prices for new vs refurb, and flags “fake deals” where the discount is inflated or the return policy is restrictive. It also recommends safer alternatives (same product from a better seller) and sends alerts when a genuinely good refurb deal appears. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for aggregation, tracking, and alerts; AI for extracting terms, classifying condition, and generating a simple risk explanation.
