BoycottLens

BoycottLens is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that helps activists and everyday shoppers avoid products tied to animal cruelty and fund better alternatives. Users scan a barcode or search a brand to get a simple “avoid / caution / better choice” rating backed by cited sources (certifications, corporate disclosures, NGO reports, and credible investigations). The app then suggests comparable alternatives available locally or online, plus one-tap actions: email the brand, sign a targeted petition, or donate to a vetted campaign. An AI layer summarizes long reports into plain-language evidence and flags uncertainty when data is weak. Brutal reality: data is messy, brands change fast, and you will get pushback. The MVP must stay narrow (e.g., cosmetics + household) to be accurate enough to earn trust.
